Article Writing 101 Workshop
Article Writing 101 Workshop
This online workshop will take you back to basics and give you the foundations to craft the perfect feature article and navigate the world of publishing as a sex worker.
This online course is relevant to anyone who wants to learn how to write publishable articles, but it is specifically for people who are currently, or have previously, worked in the sex industry.
Working in the sex industry can be, at times, isolating and the first time pitching or submitting work to publications can be daunting, particularly when you don’t know the editor’s stance on sex work. This online course hopes to make that process a little bit easier.
The creator of this workshop, Ruby Summers, founding editor of TØS Journal, is a journalist, editor and sex worker. She has over 6 years experience in writing and editing and has been published by SBS sexuality, Archer, GOAT, The Cusp and many more. She has given guest lectures on feature writing at both RMIT and QUT and facilitated numerous writing workshops.
This workshop should give you all the skills necessary to start writing your own articles. This course will cover:
How to write a feature article
How to pitch to a publication
A list of sex worker friendly publications
Writing as a sex worker using a pseudonym
And some other helpful tips and tricks
