PART 21: LUCIE
April 2020, Brisbane
So, it is almost 10am and I'm waiting for a client. My neighbour next door I'm moving out. So that's slightly stressful because there's a lot of people around you, which doesn't make for discreet entry through my backyard. But oh well. For some reason I chose today to wear like a relatively tight mini dress. Like I'm not screaming ‘discreet companion’ right now, I'm definitely screaming ‘hooker’, slightly more than I usually would.
So, not that there's a problem with that, I quite like that, but so much of this job is just making sure that you don't stand out in places where you normally would. Like just being around my in call, which is in my home, and not wanting anyone to know what I'm getting up to stresses me out. But some days I just don’t care. I throw caution to the wind.
It's Queensland. It's hot. We’re in the middle of a pandemic. That's cool. So far, I'm not sick. Here’s hoping that this isn't the client that makes me sick. I can't stop working at the moment because I need to pay rent. So, I just got to take the risk. I'm trying my best to screen. I'm trying to hope that guys are honest with me if they're not feeling well, or if they've been travelling but, I mean, there's just no way of knowing. So, I'm just crossing my fingers really.
